Improving and growing its service portfolio has been VKVP Haulage’s driving ambition for 2022. And with the year coming to a close, the Felixstowe-based company is delighted to announce that it can now carry hazardous cargo.

Mark Bennett, operations director, explains: “Transporting dangerous cargo is a process that requires due care and consideration. With a range of risks involved, we needed to consider and plan for all regulations associated with ADR. This prompted us to appoint Mark Spence, an approved external dangerous goods safety adviser (DGSA), to help navigate this complex new element of our business.

“Having always employed trained hazardous cargo drivers, and with Mark Spence on board, we made the decision to upgrade our latest DAF trucks to full hazardous cargo status.”

Now up and running, VKVP customers are already benefiting from the new service offering. Mark adds: “We’ve been pleasantly surprised with how much demand there is for the moving dangerous goods, and we’re looking forward to developing the service further in 2023.”
